YiQ doesn't keep the text you translate, and never sees your browsing history. Our AI provider may hold it briefly under its own retention policy.

English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. YiQ detects the page's language automatically.
Do I need an account?
Yes — just an email address. Signing up gives you 100,000 free tokens and keeps your balance in sync across devices.
What is a token?
Tokens measure how much text YiQ processes; both the original text and its translation count. Longer pages use more tokens, and the extension always shows your remaining balance.
What happens to the text I translate?
When you click Translate, the text of that page is sent to our servers in the United States and on to our AI model provider to produce the translation. YiQ doesn't keep it once the translation is done. Our AI provider may retain requests for a limited time under its own data retention policy — by default up to 30 days, longer in some cases such as content flagged by its safety systems. Is YiQ available in my country?
YiQ is available in most countries. It isn't available yet in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
Are there pages YiQ can't translate?
Chrome doesn't let extensions run on some pages, such as the Chrome Web Store and Chrome's own settings pages. Text inside images, and PDFs opened in Chrome's built-in viewer, aren't translated.
